Southern Indiana Equine is owned and operated by Dr. Amy Youngblood, D.V.M. Dr. Youngblood is a graduate of Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine. She also attended the Colorado State University reproductive school. Along with her general veterinary practice, Dr. Youngblood specializes in equine reproduction, dentistry and performance horse maintenance. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Indiana Veterinary Medical Association, American Association of Equine Practitioners and the Indiana Association of Equine Practitioners.

Located in Austin, IN (30 miles north of Louisville, KY) just a few miles off of Interstate 65, Southern Indiana Equine offers the uppermost in equine care. Dr. Youngblood is completing the renovation of a former dairy farm and milking parlor into one of the best veterinary clinic and equine facilities in Southern Indiana.
In addition to the veterinary clinic, the complex now houses stallion stalls, mare barn, individual exercise paddocks and 24 hour on site care. A modern AI lab is the hub of activity during the breeding season.

Southern Indiana Equine Veterinary Clinic and Farm is excited to announce the addition of a new doctor to our staff. Dr. Janelle Schroeder joined us on June 11,2012. Dr. Schroeder is a native of close by Jasper, IN and she is a 2011 graduate of the Purdue University School of Veterinary medicine. After graduation from Veterinary school, Dr. Schroeder completed a year internship at Tennessee Equine where she focused on her interests of equine lameness diagnosis and performance horse maintenance. Dr. Schroeder joins Dr. Youngblood and Dr. Bradford at Southern Indiana Equine seeing both small and large animal patients.

For your breeding consideration we currently stand seven stallions. For pedigree and pictures, please click on the "Stallion Galleries" navigation bar in the left column of this page. Stallions are collected on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Cooled semen is shipped via Federal Express. Breeding season begins in February.
